Pre-K Art Play Ages 3-5 years , class max 12 Classes will resume in September
Mondays: 9:45-10:15 a.m.
Pre-K Art has curriculum that follows a seasonal theme and will ignite an excitement for art and it's varieties through what children love to do most at this age, play. This beginning art making experience builds the foundation of the visual arts while supporting age appropriate skills including: hand/eye coordination - building conﬁdence in one’s abilities - language development social skills - support for beginning math, literacy, & science skills - exploring and learning about the world around us - healthy self expression.
Creative Genius Art Ages 6-11 years, class max 12 Classes will resume in September
Mondays: 10:30-11:15 a.m.
Art Squad is our team of young artists who will engage in a variety of ways to make art and visit the ideas that art expresses through a seasonal theme. Our personalized approach allows each student to make art about their own interests. Art Squad promotes the respect of student ideas and provides a healthy and supportive community for self expression.
Active Adventures Ages 2-5 years, class max 18 Classes will resume in September
Tuesdays: 10:00-10:30 a.m.
Active Adventures introduces group basics such as listening, taking turns, and colors through song, motion and age-appropriate activities. Including stretching, jumping jacks, running, some mild athletic skills such as bouncing, throwing or kicking balls, hula hoops, tumbling on mats, and more. We have a blast come and join us!
Explore-A-Story Ages 3-6 (developing readers) with supervising adult Class starts in September (NEW CLASS)
Wednesdays: 9:30-10:15 a.m.
Explore-A-Story will embark on an imaginative adventure each week as we become reading explorers!
We will begin each class with an engaging story, meant to organically strengthen different reading comprehension strategies, like making individual connections to the text, and visualizing. Students will feel like part of a community of readers as they are encouraged to participate in discussion, and their ideas are valued.
Next, our readers will have the opportunity to engage in a project and/or activity based on our story for the day. This memorable experience will make literature come alive for the child, and motivate them to continue the practice of exploring books on their own.
Mommy (& Me) Bootcamp No class max Class starts in September (NEW CLASS)
Thursdays: 9:30-10:15 a.m.
Mommy (& Me) Bootcamp is a total body strength and conditioning fitness class for all levels. Classes use a variety of movement types, such as intervals, circuits, and kickboxing for a fun and effective cardio strength workout. The focus is on adults, but kids are encouraged to come watch, play, or even participate with their mom. Moms are responsible for supervising their children and children need to stay in the gym during the class. Strollers are recommended for pre-walkers. Moms must be 6 weeks post-partum and have doctor’s approval to exercise.
Tot Town! Ages 2-6 years, no class max Will resume in November 2018
Tot Town is a fun and safe children's playgroup that is open to the community. Our Community Center gym space turns into an indoor playground designed for children ages 2 to 6 years and their families. Parents have the opportunity to interact with their children and with one another in a safe environment made for play! For your child's safety we recommend supervising your children at all times and not leaving them unattended. We hope to see you at Tot Town this Fall and Winter season.
Kids in Motion Ages 2-5 years, class max 20 Classes will resume in September
Fridays: 10:00-10:30 am
Kids in Motion is a program for kids where we introduce group basics such as listening, taking turns, and colors through song, motion, and age-appropriate activities. We sing, we dance, we move, we run, and we have FUN!
Tai Chi for Health Adults Only
Mondays and Wednesdays: 1:00-1:50 pm
Tai Chi for Health is one of the most effective exercises for the health of mind and body and is often referred to as 'meditation in motion.' It has been shown to improve health and quality of life by blood pressure, inflammation, and stiffness through balance, strength, flexibility and stamina. Most importantly, Tai Chi can help improve quality of life both physically and mentally.
Activity Punch Card
Punch cards can be purchased for either five classes ($15.00) or ten classes ($30.00) and can be used for any child and/or adult class offered at the Valley Community Center.
Punch Card classes will be marked on our Activity Calendar with a circled letter "P"
Cards may be purchased anytime during regular office hours at the Center: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
